Freedom is loving your body with all its “imperfections” and being the perfectly imperfect you!
Love Your Body encourages young girls to admire and celebrate their bodies for all the amazing things they can do, and to help girls see that they are so much more than their bodies.
More than ever it’s time to normalise ‘normal’. What if every young girl loved her body? How many lives would be improved or even saved?
“What a gift. This is the book we all wish we had growing up.” – Fiona Sutherland, co-director Body Positive Australia
A stand-out title at Frankfurt Bookfair, Love Your Body has been sold to foreign rights and co-edition partners and will publish in more than twenty international territories.
Additional Resources include Parent/Teacher notes, lesson plans and student workbook
About the Author:
Jessica Sanders is a 25-year-old Masters of Social Work student from Melbourne, Australia. She
has a background in Gender Studies and is passionate about upholding women’s rights. Jessica is employed at the Butterfly Foundation where she works as a presenter, delivering preventative education to groups of students on the topic of body image. Jessica decided to write Love Your Body after feeling frustrated by the limitations that holding a negative body image placed on her female friends and on womankind.
‘I’ve always tried to build up the women around me; to help them realise that they can do and be anything they want. The body positive ethos and online community helped me a great deal on my own journey to self-acceptance. This book is my attempt to make these concepts accessible to girls all over the world.
