Pukeko Dancing On The Old Dirt Track

, , , , ,

Christmas is coming and the Sanderson kids are wrapping presents and decorating the tree with angels and shells. Meanwhile, a miracle is unfolding in their back yard.

Pukeko Dancing On The Old Dirt Track is a jaunty New Zealand summer story that celebrates our festive traditions and the birth of six baby pukeko on Christmas day.

‘FLIP-FLAP, YIKIDDY-YAK! There’s a pukeko dancing on the old dirt track’.

Here’s the link to the RNZ Storytime recordings. Lovely for wee ones to listen to in the car or at bedtime while looking at the pictures (and some good down time for parents too!)

Writer and illustrator Lotte Wotherspoon has had an exciting background in the arts. She has worked as a set designer on music videos, run her own illustration practice, participated in stone sculpture symposiums and lectured in Interior Design at a tertiary level.

Lotte’s passion for language has seen her work published in a Harper Collins ‘new writers’ collection and a collection of NZ short stories. Her illustrations for children have previously appeared in the Puffin Books ‘Kiwi Bites’ series.
